Today is not a good day….I’m disappointed in two things with my life – first Bob, who is not recognizing me (he calls himself Jeremy) and second Edmonton. Can you believe it, out of all the places in the world, it had to be Edmonton. You see dear reader, Edmonton is where my dad, my grandpa and my uncle went missing. They were hunting for something called – The Phoenix. In my family, males have to go look for the Phoenix- it is a tradition. It seems to be that I’m next(yay!) – is this an opportunity to find my loved ones or either to get missing in that metropolitan that is famous for its natural scenery, history and food.
The rest of the day went exactly like my mood, scary. We had gym and let me tell you, that place is a literal warzone specially in dodgeball. The other team had Pinky, who was probably stronger than half of my class. In my team, I had Iyer, Joe, Sammy who was a very shy child. I also had Justin, who was a geek, and his longest throw was the gym teacher’s nose. I would love to describe the game, but as soon as the game started, I got knocked out with a ball. Do you want to guess who threw the ball? Jeremy did.
My last period was homeroom, which meant Ms. Jones. My class followed the rules of how we enter the classroom. “Good afternoon class, please everyone take your seats”, Ms. Jones said. Everyone in the class followed the order. “Today I will be telling you guys about the plan. Today is Friday, we will be leaving for E town on Monday 7:00 clock sharp. We will be taking the school buses to the airport and then fly to E town”, she said. The bell rang and I went home.
“Grandma, I’m home and I have some strange news”, I said as I opened the door. Grandma looked at me and smiled. “I know, about your trip toE town. Come Jamie sit with me”, she said looking very peaceful; but how did she know about my trip. My grandma is the calmest personality I know and she always surprises me. She handles things so easily like they are nothing, I haven’t seen her in panic or getting annoyed at anyone. My grandma reads the stars – she is an astrologer.
I asked, “Grandma, How do you know about my trip? Is this the…..”. Before I could complete my statement, she said, “The stars told me”. “I have seen your destiny Jamie; I cannot prevent but I can help you”, she said very seriously. “E town is very beautiful but it is very dangerous for you. To enjoy the trip, you must follow the rules that are in this book”, she said, holding a rusty book. Wait, she was not holding a book 10 seconds ago. Did she just? No, I must be dreaming. She handed me the book and said, “This was your father’s; it holds the prophecy of the savior of the five realms”. She gave me a warm hug and walked away. With my heart in my throat, I began to read….
